There are many benefits to drinking flower tea.

  6. Slow down the process of ageing

Some of my favourite flower tea which I always stock up at home - Jasmine, Chrysanthemum,  Lavender, Butterfly Pea Flower, Osmanthus and Rosebud.

How to prepare delicious flower tea?

There are 3 ways of making flower tea.

1. Just a flower tea style.

Wash the flowers. Then soaked it in boiling water for 4 to 5 minutes. Remove it and drink. Well, you can add honey or sugar. But for health purpose, I would skip that.

2. Coupling the flowers

The benefits of flower tea can be enhanced by coupling it with tea leaves. My three favourite coupling is chrysanthemum with green tea, rosebud with white tea and osmanthus with black tea.

3. Boiling in the cooker

Mixed all the other ingredients such as red dates, birds nest, peach gum, rock sugar, goji berries, longan. monk fruits and many other herbs which depend on the recipe. Benefits will be different when you prepare your tea in this way too.

For the first and second method of preparing, I usually use a tea bag for convenient purpose. You know all those flowers and tea leaves can get in your way when drinking. I can save my hassle straining the residues.

Below some of my personal favourite flower tea recipes. Simple preparation and it won't take much of your time to prepare this for good health benefits.

Pour the blue colour butterfly pea flower tea into the pot. Then add in lime juice. Surprisingly, by this time you will be amazed the blue colour tea turn into dark purple due to the acidic effect. Kids will love to watch this colour changing process. Add in honey to taste and pour in the sparkling water for some refreshing effect. You can always use filtered water and ice. Please wash it properly and soak it overnight for it to expand and be soft like jelly. Add the peach gum when you want to serve the tea to drink. I forgot to soak the peach gum so I just drink the tea as it is. By the way, you can boil more and store in your fridge. I love it hot and also serve it cold.
