Why So Many Retirees Move to Florida

Last week, my Dad was telling me about his last sister who is now happily retiring at Florida with her husband and two grown children. They originally resided in New York for many years. Then they move to Florida due to the weather is the best suited for old age people and part of the retirement plan. Being a retiree myself, I could relate to the needs of one looking for a retirement place.

Retirement is a time to relax and enjoy all that life has to offer without worrying about trudging through a 9 to 5.

When you retire you want to find a location that will make the most of your retirement fund while stretching its dollars, has access to fantastic healthcare, and provides a community of like-minded people and amenities that lend themselves to a fulfilling way of living.

What better place to settle than the Sunshine State? Whether you're looking at Fort Lauderdale house for sale or a condo in Tampa, Florida makes for a wonderful retirement setting.

You won't be left wanting for company.

It's been predicted that by 2030 Florida's population will reach 23.9 million, with 6 million of these folks aged 65 or older. This is almost twice the size of the current senior population.

This means not only will you have more people to socialize with, many areas will experience growth activities geared towards seniors.

It's less taxing.

It is one of the top 10 tax-friendly states in the nation thanks to no state income tax.

This means Social Security benefits, IRAs pensions, and other retirement income are not privy to state taxes, making your savings go farther.

We mean that in a mental sense as well.

Florida has a wonderful climate and though it does tend to rain for short spurts nearly every day, it's mostly a sky inundated with sunshine.

The state boasts an average of 230 days of sunshine a year. The boost of serotonin can help stave off stress and depression, providing a sunnier disposition on life.

Life's a beach.

There are over 1,200 coastlines to enjoy with a variety of beaches.

Sanibel Island's calm shores, white sands, and abundance of seashells make it the top-ranked beach in the state. Destin is an affordable and active beach town and Perdido Key is home to plentiful wildlife if you're into admiring nature.

You'll stay active.

One of the most important things to remember heading into retirement age is that you should try to stay as active as you can in your later years. Florida offers up plenty of things to do to make this so.

Ride on horseback around Amelia Island or get a thrill from an airboat ride through the Everglades National Park.

You can tap into your inner child at Walt Disney World or Universal Studios for a day of thrill rides and immersive experiences.

There are plenty of places to boat, fish, swim, walk, hike and bike throughout the state, which can be enjoyed year-round thanks to the beautiful weather.

Your health will be taken care of.

Florida residents have easy access to world-renowned healthcare, an important thing to have at hand later in life.

Some of the best geriatric professionals live here and top hospitals like the Mayo Clinic-Jacksonville, Advent Health Orlando, and Tampa General Hospital are available for care.

There is also a variety of Health Insurance plans to choose from to fit any budget.

In general, most people are advised to start using retinol in their mid-20s. Why do we need retinol for our skin? Well, this is because collagen and elastin production starts to slow down. Adding retinol into our skincare routine at age of 25 to 30 is the perfect time to slow down the ageing process. So, what is retinol that people are hyping about? In short, retinol is a topical product containing a vitamin A derivative. Technically speaking a type of retinoid which works to increase collagen production. I guess, am afraid to start one because I read many side effects if use it wrong.  What is the side effect if you use retinol wrong?  Retinols can increase your skin's sensitivity to sunlight. So, it is advisable to apply th...
