Knee Arthroscopy Procedure for the Second Time

Knee Arthroscopy Procedure

I was at my 3rd week knee arthroscopy recovery when writing this post on my couch while holding my smartphone straining the 50s eyes. To be honest at 3rd week the feeling was dreadful. I think my bum has gone thinner due to sitting for a long time. My back? Gosh!!! I can't even start talking about my poor back health. Any hospitalisation recovery at old age made one feel miserable. Mine is just minor procedure. I can't even imagine the big one.

How I end up with knee arthroscopy procedure?

It's all started before CNY this year. I was doing my usual morning walk and exercise. I was feeling better. So , I decided to try the lunges to improve my knee and mobility. For some people doing lunges is a small matter. For someone with bad knee....it's a big deal! Anyway, I was proud of myself until the 3rd lunges. I heard a pop sound as I went further down. No! It's not hurt at all. I decided to not continue. My knee was tight and difficult to walk like normal. Yeah...my walk was so weird. Like something blocking on the front of knee cap. It was the longest 5 minutes walk back home on that morning.

That was few days before CNY. I still continue my daily life as usual. Sometimes I can walk just fine but most of the time I was like handicap. Stressful especially I have to make a decision, to see or not to see doctor. I have a feeling , it's going to be another knee arthroscopy procedure. My 1st procedure was right before COVID broke and it was on my other knee which is left. I was discharged from gleneagles hospital after 5 days warded. I managed to go for one doctor appointment after the surgery but then the whole country went lock down. I was on my own including the physio. 😔

Until now , my left knee didn't get the full extension.

Back to my right knee, I finally decided to see the doctor. I managed to get an appointment on the 14th Feb 2025 at Gleneagles Hospital. The same doctor did my left knee. After the 1st appointment, Doctor's office arranged for MRI at OSC, Subang. Whoaaaa!!!! So far away from Semenyih. But that place have the earlier slot and cheaper. Ermmmm...I minus the cheap part. Overall cost isn't that cheap. A bit reluctant and bitter because suddenly got kick all the way to Subang. Cut story short, I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis level 4 on both knee. My both knee condition is like the 70 years old woman knee. The doctor said it doesn't match my age at all and was shocked when to see the condition. Exaggerating!!!! Yeahhh...me still in denial. My right knee bursitis was a huge mess according to doctor. I saw it too...from the MRI. Goshhhh!!! What happened in there....a quarry explosion or something? After the procedure, doctor said he only clean up what he can. My meniscus and patella in a mess too. No cartilage. Bone exhausted. Ahhhhh.....long list.

I had spilled some of my knee condition and yeahhhh....I am still recovering now. Not an easy journey especially when doing all by myself. I gotten some help from my friend but the rest I'm on my own. I still manage to go through this.

Oh! By the way this time I'm at 50% feet bearing. On my crutches both arm. Everyday, leg rise, physio, ice. My left knee was 100% no feet bearing.

Total hospitalisation cost for 3 days was RM24K ++ excluded MRI and doctor appointments. Why only 3 days? I was disturbed by some ghost on the 2nd night. 😅

My insurance covered only RM22K ++ out of that hospitalisation amount. I still have to bear RM1,500 plus. I just submitted my claimed yesterday for MRI and other doctor appointment cost. Not sure if they will approved or not.

I was paying premium of RM4,300 yearly. They have given the notification to increase it to RM4,750 yearly. Don't even want to mentioned about fair or not fair here. Inflation is real but our government should regulate hospital cost and insurance too. In my opinion both industry regulation is too weak.

The only thing, I like about being kick out to OSC and get hospitalized here is this place focus on Orthopedic. So , I felt safe without exposed to other diseases. The nurse here are so helpful and friendly too. The number of room are limited here. Especially, for someone like me who always want a single room. My surgery date was delayed from 9 March to 13 March 2025 because I insisted to have a single room. End up a haunted one hahaha Black Pig Ghost some more.🤣

Cosmoderm Luminous A Retinol Review

In general, most people are advised to start using retinol in their mid-20s. Why do we need retinol for our skin? Well, this is because collagen and elastin production starts to slow down. Adding retinol into our skincare routine at age of 25 to 30 is the perfect time to slow down the ageing process. So, what is retinol that people are hyping about? In short, retinol is a topical product containing a vitamin A derivative. Technically speaking a type of retinoid which works to increase collagen production. It helps to treat acne, and blackheads and is also ideal to improve skincare texture such as minimising fine lines, and wrinkles and brightening dull skin. Personally, I am a beginner in adding Retinol into my skincare routine. At the age of 47 years old. I guess, am afraid to start one because I read many side effects if use it wrong.  What is the side effect if you use retinol wrong?  Retinols can increase your skin's sensitivity to sunlight. So, it is advisable to apply th...
